The latest transfer gossip: Pickford, Lukaku, Barella, Cucurella, Gallagher, Caicedo, Veiga, Arteta
The transfer window is in full swing, and the rumors continue to swirl around some of Europe’s top clubs.
Manchester United is reportedly preparing a £45m bid for Everton’s Jordan Pickford, who has been a key player for the Toffees in recent years.
The England goalkeeper could be seen as a potential replacement for David De Gea, who has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford.
Meanwhile, United is also expected to increase its bid for Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount to £50m. The Red Devils had an initial offer of £40m rejected for the England international, who has been a standout performer for both club and country in recent seasons.
Chelsea, on the other hand, has been linked with several potential transfer targets. The Blues have reportedly asked Inter Milan about the possibility of including Nicolo Barella in a swap deal for Romelu Lukaku, who has been strongly linked with a return to Stamford Bridge.
Marc Cucurella, the left-back for Getafe and formerly of Barcelona, is also reportedly on Chelsea’s radar, with the club possibly looking to strengthen their defense.
Additionally, Chelsea may offer Conor Gallagher to Brighton as part of a deal to sign Moises Caicedo. The 21-year-old Ecuadorian midfielder has been highly sought after this summer, with several European clubs reportedly interested in his services.
Liverpool and Chelsea have inquired about Celta Vigo’s 21-year-old Spanish midfielder Gabri Veiga. The talented youngster has been catching the eye of scouts from a number of top European clubs, and it remains to be seen where he will end up.
Elsewhere, Paris Saint-Germain has reportedly spoken to Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta about potentially becoming their new coach. Talks with former Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann have reportedly broken down, and PSG is said to be considering a number of other candidates, including Luis Enrique and Xabi Alonso.
Tottenham is said to have agreed personal terms with Brentford’s Spanish goalkeeper David Raya. The 27-year-old shot-stopper has been a key player for the Bees in recent seasons, and his potential move to Spurs could signal the end of Hugo Lloris’ time at the club.
There are also several other rumors floating around, including Real Betis’ interest in Leicester City’s Ayoze Perez and Manchester United’s Eric Bailly, as well as Eden Hazard’s potential move to RWD Molenbeek in his native Belgium.
