Roberto Firmino Scores Hat Trick in Al Ahli's Ope

Roberto Firmino made a dream start to his Al-Ahli career on Friday, scoring a hat-trick in the club’s 3-1 win over Al-Hazem in the opening game of the 2023-24 Roshn Saudi League season.

The Brazilian striker, who joined Al-Ahli from Liverpool in the summer, was in inspired form at the Prince Abdullah Al-Faisal Stadium, scoring all three of his goals in the first half.

Firmino opened the scoring in the sixth minute, heading home from a cross by Ali Majrashi. He doubled his tally four minutes later, finishing off a flowing move involving Mahrez and Saint-Maximin.

And he completed his hat-trick in the 33rd minute, firing home from close range after a mistake by Edouard Mendy.

Al-Hazem pulled a goal back through Vina in the second half, but it was not enough to prevent Al-Ahli from claiming a comfortable victory.

The win was a perfect start for Al-Ahli, who are one of the favorites to win the title this season. The club has spent heavily in the transfer market, bringing in a number of world-class players, including Firmino, Mahrez, and Saint-Maximin.

Firmino’s hat-trick was a statement of intent from the Brazilian, and it will be interesting to see how he performs throughout the season. If he can maintain his form, he could be the player to help Al-Ahli win their first league title since 2016.

The game was also a sign of the new era in Saudi Arabian football. With the arrival of so many big-name players, the league is now more competitive than ever before. It is sure to be an exciting season, and one that will be closely watched by fans around the world.
