Reports suggest that Real Madrid is ready to offer Kylian Mbappé a way out of Paris Saint-Germain, following the French striker’s decision not to activate the one-year extension in his current contract.

Mbappé reportedly informed PSG of his decision in a formal letter on Monday, which means that he could become a free agent next summer.

PSG is reportedly reluctant to lose such a valuable asset without receiving any compensation and may consider a transfer this summer.

The Qatari owners of PSG, QSI, are said to be baffled by Mbappé’s decision and are willing to go to great lengths to retain his services.

However, Real Madrid, who missed out on signing Mbappé last summer, may return to the negotiating table earlier than expected. While their initial plan was to sign Mbappé in 2024, the latest developments suggest that they are now ready to make a move this summer.

Club president Florentino Perez has reportedly been in talks with Mbappé for the past few weeks and is keen to test PSG’s determination to keep the Frenchman.

Mbappé is a valuable asset, and losing him for free next summer would be a significant blow for PSG. Real Madrid is now looking to take advantage of the situation and lure the striker to the Spanish capital.

It remains to be seen how PSG will respond to Real Madrid’s overtures and whether Mbappé will indeed leave the Parc des Princes this summer.
