Manchester United are reportedly set to make a move for Eintracht Frankfurt’s Randal Kolo Muani, as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of the new season.

The news was broken by the Manchester Evening News on Twitter, and it is believed that the Red Devils have been tracking the French forward for several weeks.

Muani joined Frankfurt from Nantes just one year ago and is under contract with the Bundesliga club until 2027.

It remains to be seen whether Frankfurt will be willing to part with their star man after just one season, especially given his impressive performances in the 2022/2023 campaign.

The 24-year-old’s impressive tally of 23 goals and 17 assists in all competitions has caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe, with Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich also thought to be monitoring his situation.

For Manchester United, Muani’s goal-scoring prowess would be a welcome addition to the squad, as they look to address their lack of firepower up front.

The departure of Cristiano Ronaldo in January left a void that was never truly filled, with Anthony Martial struggling with injuries and Wout Weghorst failing to make an impact in his six months at the club.

Manager Erik ten Hag has made no secret of his desire to sign a top-class striker this summer, and Muani would certainly fit the bill. His ability to find the back of the net with regularity would be a huge boost to United’s attacking options, and could be the missing piece of the puzzle as they look to challenge for major honours next season.

However, with competition from other top clubs for Muani’s signature, it remains to be seen whether United will be able to secure his services.

Nevertheless, if they are able to pull off the transfer, it could be a game-changer for the Red Devils and their ambitions for the upcoming season.
