Facundo Pellistri scored a stoppage time equalizer as Manchester United finished their pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Athletic Bilbao in Dublin.

After fighting back to beat Lens at Old Trafford on Saturday with arguably their strongest available lineup, United changed their entire 11 against La Liga opponents at the Aviva Stadium.

Despite starting brightly with Pellistri and Sancho looking dangerous, Bilbao took the lead in the 29th minute when Nico Williams poked the ball past Tom Heaton following a Harry Maguire mistake.

United started the second half positively too but struggled to break down a resilient Bilbao defence. They were given a boost though in the 66th minute when Bilbao went down to 10 men as Aitor Paredes fouled United substitute Hannibal after losing possession.

The red card allowed United to create more chances and they deservedly found a way through deep into added time as Maguire made up for his earlier error by nodding down an Aaron Wan-Bissaka cross for Pellistri, who calmly directed his effort past Unai Simon from a few yards out.
