Manchester United have completed the signing of Rasmus Hojlund from Atalanta on a five-year contract, with the option of a further year.
The 20-year-old striker has been one of the most highly-rated young players in Europe in recent years, and he joins United for an initial fee of £64m, plus £8m in add-ons.
Hojlund has scored 27 goals in 87 club appearances, including 10 in Italy for Atalanta last season. He is also a senior international for Denmark, with six goals in six appearances.
The youngster said: “It is no secret that I have been a fan of this great club since I was a small boy, and I dreamed of walking out at Old Trafford as a Manchester United player.
“I am incredibly excited by this opportunity to turn that dream into a reality, and I am determined to repay the faith that the club has shown in me. It is still early in my career, but I know that I am ready to make this step up and play with this group of world-class players.

Hojlund’s arrival is a major coup for United, and he is sure to be a key player for the club in the years to come. He is a versatile forward who can play anywhere across the front line, and he has a natural goalscoring instinct.
