Manchester United Squad Plans Against Brighton Revealed

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has provided an update on his squad selection for Saturday’s Premier League match against Brighton & Hove Albion.

United will be looking to make it three home wins from three games this season, but face a tough test against a Brighton side that has started the campaign well with three victories.

Ten Hag has been assessing his options following the international break. The good news is that defender Lisandro Martinez should be available after returning from international duty with Argentina.

Raphael Varane and Mason Mount are making progress in their recoveries but this game will come too soon for them. Ten Hag confirmed that both players “are in a good place” and “are shortly coming towards a return”. Victor Lindelof is fine after being substituted against Arsenal.

Antony and Jadon Sancho will miss the Brighton match, meaning there is an opening on the right wing. Bruno Fernandes, Marcus Rashford and Facundo Pellistri are among the options to fill that role.

New signings Rasmus Hojlund and Sofyan Amrabat could be in line to make their Old Trafford debuts, depending on Amrabat’s availability after withdrawing from Morocco duty.

Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi faces some uncertainty over strikers Evan Ferguson and Danny Welbeck due to injuries.

Ferguson has started the season well but missed internationals, though he has trained and is in contention. New signing Ansu Fati could make his debut up front.

Paraguayan Julio Enciso will be out until mid-November but Pervis Estupinan and Facundo Buonanotte are available after international travel.
