Manchester United eye Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Manchester United are pursuing Napoli winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the January transfer window. The Georgian international has impressed for Napoli last season, scoring 14 goals as they won Serie A in 2022/23.

United manager Erik ten Hag is looking to bolster his wide attacking options after recent issues.

Antony has been unavailable due to allegations of domestic violence, while Jadon Sancho’s future is uncertain following a falling out with Ten Hag.

Young Ivorian winger Amad also remains sidelined through injury.

Kvaratskhelia has emerged as one of Ten Hag’s top targets to solve United’s wide problems.

However, prising the 21-year-old away from Napoli mid-season will be difficult according to reports.

Napoli are unlikely to sanction a sale so soon after Kvaratskhelia’s stellar debut season. United may have to make do with an initial loan move, similar to their signing of Sofyan Amrabat recently.

Ten Hag is an admirer of Kvaratskhelia’s dribbling ability, pace and goalscoring contributions. But financial fair play restrictions could hinder United from a big permanent transfer until more players are sold.

Kvaratskhelia has also attracted interest from Premier League rivals like Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle United previously.

United will have to be clever in their negotiations to win the race for one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
