Manchester United Prepares for Pre-Season Friendly Against Lyon

Manchester United is set to take on Lyon in their second pre-season friendly match, with fresh options available for the team’s line-up.

The match will take place at BT Murrayfield in Edinburgh and will be broadcast live on MUTV. Tickets are also available for purchase up until the 14:00 BST kick-off time.

One notable addition to the team is Jonny Evans, who has signed a short-term deal with the club after training with the Reds. Evans will be available for the Lyon match as well as the Wrexham clash in San Diego.

This comes after fellow defenders Rhys Bennett and Tyrell Malacia were both ruled out of the Lyon match and Tour 2023 of the United States.

There is also good news regarding Antony and Donny van de Beek, who have both made the trip to Scotland.

Antony was ruled out of the Emirates FA Cup final against Manchester City due to an injury, while Van de Beek has not played since sustaining a knee injury against Bournemouth in January.

Fred, who was absent in Norway despite traveling with the team, is also fit and will be competing for a spot against Laurent Blanc’s Ligue 1 side.

Meanwhile, Mason Mount is set to make his second appearance after impressing on his maiden outing, and young forwards Noam Emeran and Joe Hugill are retained after scoring goals against Leeds.

In terms of goalkeepers, Matej Kovar, Nathan Bishop, and 17-year-old Elyh Harrison are all competing for a spot. Lyon, on the other hand, may be without former Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren, who picked up a knock in pre-season.

The match against Lyon promises to be an entertaining encounter before the Reds embark on a flight to the US for their upcoming clash with Arsenal in New Jersey.
