Reports suggest that Liverpool are preparing to make a bid of £70 million for Aurelien Tchouameni, the French midfielder who currently plays for Real Madrid. The Reds were interested in signing Tchouameni last summer, but he ultimately moved to Spain in a big-money transfer. However, Liverpool are now keen to bring him to Anfield and strengthen their midfield ahead of the next season.

Tchouameni has performed well in Spain this season and has already won a Club World Cup with Real Madrid. Liverpool fans may also remember him for his goal against England in the World Cup quarter-finals last year. Despite only joining Real Madrid for £70 million last summer, the 23-year-old midfielder could be on the move again, as Liverpool are reportedly planning a similar offer.

According to El Nacional, Tchouameni has been slower than expected in adapting to life in Madrid, but he is highly regarded by the club’s hierarchy, who may be reluctant to let him go. Liverpool have also been linked with Jude Bellingham, another promising young midfielder, but it remains to be seen whether they can secure his signature amid competition from Real Madrid and Manchester City.

Improving their midfield will be crucial for Liverpool as they look to bounce back from a disappointing season. After a 7-0 win over Manchester United, the Reds lost three consecutive matches before drawing with Chelsea. They currently sit eighth in the Premier League, 13 points adrift of the Champions League places, but they can climb to seventh with a win against league leaders Arsenal on Sunday.

Ahead of the Arsenal clash, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp stressed the importance of taking things one game at a time and focusing on individual performances rather than the team’s overall position in the table. He acknowledged that the current situation is challenging, but expressed confidence that Liverpool can overcome it in a “classy way.”
