Liverpool are closing in on the signing of another midfielder as a personal deal has been agreed

Liverpool have completed the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and are now focused on bringing in a defensive midfielder to partner World Cup winner Fabinho. The Reds have reportedly agreed personal terms with OGC Nice’s Khephren Thuram, as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new campaign.
Fabinho’s performances last season declined, and Jurgen Klopp is keen to bring in a player who can provide cover and competition for the Brazilian. Talks are underway between Liverpool and Nice over a transfer fee for Thuram, with the French club said to be looking for maximum value for their star player.
Thuram has been on Liverpool’s radar since January, and the 22-year-old is reportedly pushing for a move to Anfield along with his entourage. The French midfielder’s arrival would be a significant boost for Klopp, as the defensive midfield position has become vulnerable over the last 12 months under Fabinho’s watch.
If the deal for Thuram is completed, he will be Liverpool’s second signing of the summer window. Klopp is expected to turn his attention to bringing in a third midfielder to complete his overhaul of the team’s midfield.
Liverpool will be hoping that the addition of Thuram and a new midfield partner for Fabinho will help them compete for major honors next season. The Reds will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last season, where they failed to defend their Premier League title and finished third in the table. Klopp will be hoping that his summer transfer business will help Liverpool mount a serious challenge for silverware once again.
