Former Manchester United Goalkeeper David de Gea Meets Current Defender Sergio Reguilon for Lunch

Former Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea recently met up with current Red Devils defender Sergio Reguilon for lunch. This meeting has fueled rumors of a potential return to United for de Gea.

De Gea ended his 12-year career with Manchester United at the end of last season when his contract expired and the club opted not to renew it. Despite a stellar individual season where he won the Premier League Golden Glove award, it was not enough for United to extend his contract.

The club has since signed Andre Onana as de Gea’s replacement. However, Onana has struggled in his early appearances for United with numerous high-profile errors. This has led to speculation that United may look to bring de Gea back.

De Gea posted a photo on Instagram of him and Reguilon at lunch on Wednesday with the caption “Good to see you amigo.” Reguilon has previously said that de Gea helped convince him to join United and spoke highly of the club.

Since leaving United, de Gea has been based in Madrid with his family. However, he remains a free agent and some United fans believe the club should re-sign the experienced keeper given Onana’s shaky start. While de Gea enjoys time with his family, a return to Old Trafford in January remains a possibility for the 32-year-old shot-stopper.
