Liverpool will be without three key players, Darwin Nunez, Virgil van Dijk, and Alisson Becker, for their last Premier League game against Southampton. Despite securing fifth place in the league, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has decided to make changes to the team, with James Milner, Roberto Firmino, and Kostas Tsimikas all set to feature in the final game. This will also be the last game for Milner and Firmino as they are set to leave the club on a free transfer this summer, and Klopp has given them the opportunity to sign off with a win.

However, the absence of Van Dijk and Alisson is a matter of concern for Liverpool. Both players featured in the last game against Aston Villa, but neither of them are part of the match-day squad for the Southampton game. Though there are no reported injury concerns, it is likely that Klopp has decided to rest them for the final game of the season.

Darwin Nunez, who has been struggling with a toe injury, is also missing from the squad. With Firmino starting in the first XI and Cody Gakpo on the bench, Klopp has decided to rest the Uruguayan forward. Alisson, who has been Liverpool’s standout performer this season, has made some incredible saves and even provided an assist for Mohamed Salah’s goal against Manchester City.

While the absence of these players may be a blow to Liverpool, Klopp will be hoping that the changes to the teamwill still be enough to secure a win against Southampton. It remains to be seen how the team will perform without their star goalkeeper and key defender, but Klopp has shown his faith in the squad by giving other players a chance to impress.

While the absence of Nunez, Van Dijk, and Alisson may be a setback, Liverpool will be hoping to show their strength in depth and finish the season strongly.
