Thiago Alcantara, the midfielder for Liverpool FC, has removed the club from his Instagram bio, causing concern among the team’s supporters regarding his future at the club. Thiago has been a Liverpool player for almost three years, having moved from Bayern Munich. There have been speculations that he will depart when his contract expires next summer, but some Liverpool fans fear that Thiago will be leaving the club sooner than that.

The change in Thiago’s Instagram bio was spotted by a Twitter user, Anything Liverpool, who also noted that he still mentioned the club in his Twitter bio. Liverpool fans took to social media to express their sadness and disappointment, with one fan saying, “I can’t take this pain,” and another adding, “Damn now I’m heartbroken.” Others pleaded with Thiago not to leave, writing, “Please don’t go,” and “Kinda saddened by this.”

Since joining Liverpool, Thiago has made 97 appearances, scoring three goals and providing six assists. He played an instrumental role in Liverpool’s FA Cup victory in 2022, scoring in the penalty shoot-out as Liverpool prevailed against Chelsea. However, Thiago has struggled with injuries, limiting his playing time last season to just 18 Premier League appearances due to hamstring and hip problems.

Liverpool has made a busy start to the transfer window, bringing in midfielders Dominik Szoboszlai and Alexis Mac Allister from RB Leipzig and Brighton, respectively. If Thiago stays at Liverpool, it remains to be seen how significant a role he would play for Jurgen Klopp’s side next season. Fans are hoping that the removal of the club’s name from his Instagram bio is nothing more than a harmless change and that Thiago will continue to be a vital part of Liverpool’s midfield.
