Liverpool FC are gearing up for the start of their 2023-24 seaso, with just over two weeks to go until they kick off against Chelsea. The Reds have been in pre-season training for nearly three weeks now, and have just completed a successful training camp in Germany.

Manager Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for the training camp, describing it as “absolutely top class”. The team will now travel to Singapore for the next stage of their pre-season preparations.

However, the Liverpool squad will be without Fabinho and Jordan Henderson, who are heading to Saudi Arabia. Klopp has named a 27-man squad for the Singapore trip, which is not too dissimilar from the one that travelled to Germany. Notably, some players have been left out, including Conor Bradley, Nat Phillips, Stefan Bajcetic, Thiago, Marcelo Pitaluga, and Vitezslav Jaros.

It is a surprise to see Bradley omitted from the squad, and fans will be hoping that it is not due to injury. It could mean that he is being considered for a loan, as is the case for Pitaluga. Bajcetic and Thiago have been working their way back to full fitness and have been left behind to continue their individual programmes at the AXA Training Centre.

Despite some players missing, Klopp has decided to take a number of young players with him to Singapore. Calum Scanlon, Fabian Mrozek, Bobby Clark, James McConnell, Melkamu Frauendorf, Ben Doak, and Lewis Koumas will all remain with the squad.

Liverpool’s trip to Singapore will see them play two matches, against Leicester on Sunday and Bayern Munich on Wednesday. These games will provide valuable preparation for the new season and give Klopp the chance to experiment with different formations and tactics.

Overall, Liverpool fans will be hoping that their team can build on their third-place finish last season and mount a serious challenge for the Premier League title this time around. With Klopp at the helm and a talented squad at his disposal, there is plenty of reason for optimism at Anfield.
