United have already made some notable signings this summer, including the high-profile capture of Mason Mount from Chelsea, but manager Erik ten Hag is still keen to strengthen his midfield options ahead of the new season.

Last season, United struggled when Casemiro was not available due to suspension, and with the number of games they will be playing and the physicality of the Premier League, ten Hag is keen to avoid being caught short.

Amrabat, who was a key player for Morocco at the World Cup, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for some time, with reports suggesting that United are willing to pay around £25 million for his services.

According to the latest reports, negotiations between the two clubs are progressing well, and an agreement could be reached in the very near future.

“The negotiation between Manchester United and Sofyan Amrabat is developing according to the planned tracks and the agreement between the clubs is getting closer and closer,” said one report.

“The British have reached around 25 million and with the addition of some bonuses, the impression is that it can close in a very short time in everyone’s interest.”

Meanwhile, Fiorentina are set to travel to Belgrade to face Red Star on the 26th of July, but Amrabat will not be part of the squad, leading to further speculation that he is on his way to Manchester.

“Fiorentina will fly to Belgrade where they will play against Red Star on the 26th evening (8pm). Amrabat will not board the plane. The impression is that he will soon be able to dress in colors other than purple,” the report added.

If United are able to secure Amrabat’s signature, they will have added another talented midfielder to their ranks, with the Moroccan known for his dribbling ability, work rate, and physicality in the middle of the park.

With the new season fast approaching, United will be hoping to complete the deal as soon as possible, giving Amrabat time to settle in and get up to speed with his new teammates before the start of the campaign.
