Manchester United’s forward, Anthony Martial, will not be able to participate in the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City on Saturday.

This is due to a hamstring injury that he sustained during Sunday’s game against Fulham, where Manchester United won 2-1 at Old Trafford. As a result, Martial has been ruled out of the final.

On Tuesday, Manchester United confirmed that their 27-year-old player had suffered a muscle tear after undergoing tests.

Manchester United could secure a domestic double if they win on Saturday, having already won the League Cup back in February.

A potential victory for Manchester United would also prevent their city rivals from matching the Treble that was won by Sir Alex Ferguson’s United team in 1999.

Manchester City, who are the Premier League champions, will also be playing in next month’s Champions League final.

This season, Martial scored six goals and provided two assists in 21 Premier League matches, despite being plagued by injuries.

Meanwhile, there were concerns around the fitness of United’s winger Antony, who was taken off on a stretcher in tears during the team’s 4-1 win over Chelsea.

However, the manager Erik ten Hag stated on Sunday that the 23-year-old Brazilian is likely to recover from his ankle injury in time for the final on Saturday.
