At just 21 years of age, Gvardiol is already considered to be among the top defenders in Europe, with plenty of potential for further development.

During the Qatar World Cup, Gvardiol’s performances for Croatia as a defender garnered attention and boosted his reputation and stature significantly.

Gvardiol has been previously linked with Manchester United.

In the past year, The Peoples Person reported that former interim boss Ralf Rangnick suggested Gvardiol to the Manchester United hierarchy.

Several clubs were showing interest in signing Gvardiol in January, but he appeared to have ruled out a potential transfer to Manchester United by expressing his preference for Liverpool as his dream club.

Foot Mercato’s Santi Aouna has reported that Manchester United are still in contention to sign Gvardiol and have submitted an offer to the player.

Manchester United are reportedly ready to make a significant financial commitment in order to acquire Gvardiol’s services.

According to Aouna, who spoke to MadridXtra, Gvardiol has expressed a strong desire to join Real Madrid, a club that is also reportedly interested in him.

“Nevertheless, the cost of acquiring him is quite high.”

“Since January, Gvardiol has reportedly received numerous offers, particularly from Premier League clubs.”

Aouna further states that Manchester City, Chelsea, and Manchester United are among the clubs that have made substantial financial offers for Gvardiol.

Given the likelihood of Harry Maguire’s departure from Old Trafford, it is believed that Manchester United are searching for a new center-back.

Manchester United are reportedly interested in Jurrien Timber and Kim Min-jae as well.

While Gvardiol would undoubtedly be a significant improvement over Maguire, it seems improbable that United would be willing to pay a hefty transfer fee, which could approach €100 million for a defender, as they are currently prioritizing the signing of a striker and midfielder.
