Manchester United Fans Urge Greenwood's Return after Getafe Success

Manchester United supporters are expressing their desire for Mason Greenwood to return to the club after his successful loan spell at Getafe. The 22-year-old winger impressed by scoring two goals for his new Spanish team in a dominant victory over Tardienta. This achievement adds to his first La Liga goal against Celta Vigo last month.

While Greenwood is currently on loan at the Madrid-based club from Manchester United, reports suggest that he is content with his life in Spain. Meanwhile, at Old Trafford, manager Erik Ten Hag is facing increasing scrutiny due to his team’s disappointing start to the season. The recent 3-0 defeat against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup, which resulted in their elimination from the competition they won last year, has intensified the pressure on Ten Hag. This loss marked the team’s eighth defeat in 15 matches this season so far.

In light of Manchester United’s struggles, passionate fans are now calling for Greenwood’s return to the club, as reported by the Daily Star. Supporters have taken to social media to express their desire for the young player to come back, with one fan stating, “Bring back my star boy.” Another fan expressed, “I think it is the best time we bring Mason Greenwood back from Getafe. He’s just good tbh. Better than every forward in Man United’s squad currently. Mason should be back.” A third fan added, “Do you know what is technically missing in this Ten Hag squad? Mason Greenwood.”

However, not all fans are in favor of the idea, arguing that he should be kept away from Manchester United. It is worth noting that Greenwood faced legal issues last year when he was arrested on charges of attempted rape, assault, and coercive control. The Crown Prosecution Service dropped the case in February after initially charging him. Manchester United conducted an internal investigation and concluded that Greenwood could not continue his career at Old Trafford. As a result, he joined Getafe just before the summer transfer window deadline. Despite the circumstances, Greenwood has managed to score three goals in eight appearances for his loan club.

According to a source, Greenwood is hoping to stay at Getafe for the foreseeable future. The source stated, “The players and fans have all given him a welcome he could only have dreamed of. He really feared his career was over. Now he’s just so happy and wants to carry on playing and not think too far ahead.”
