Maddison Teases Alexander-Arnold Over Liverpool’s Replay Request

James Maddison couldn’t resist teasing England teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold over Liverpool’s replay request against Tottenham.

The Leicester man posted a photo on Instagram of himself with Alexander-Arnold at St. George’s Park, captioned: “Still asking for a replay!”

Liverpool floated the idea of replaying their 2-1 defeat at Spurs after Luis Diaz’s wrongly disallowed goal. Boss Jurgen Klopp felt a replay was the “only outcome”.

With the controversy now past, Maddison’s cheeky dig shows no ill-feeling between the players as they prepare for England duty.

The prospect of replaying the match was floated by Klopp after a club statement threatened to “escalate” issues around Diaz’s goal and red cards for Diogo Jota and Curtis Jones.
