Liverpool’s defence needs work
Liverpool conceded four goals against Bayern Munich, and it’s clear that the defence needs to improve if the Reds are to challenge for the Premier League title this season. The Reds were left far too open on their right flank for both of Bayern’s first-half goals, and it’s something that Klopp will need to address before the start of the season.
Gakpo could lead the line
Cody Gakpo scored Liverpool’s first goal against Bayern Munich, and he could be a permanent fixture in the starting XI this season. The Dutchman is a talented attacker who is capable of playing in a number of positions, and he could be the perfect partner for Darwin Nunez up front.
Jones did well in the No 6 role
Curtis Jones has started both of Liverpool’s pre-season friendlies in the No 6 role, and he has done well. The 22-year-old is a calm and composed player with the ball at his feet, and he has shown that he can be a good passer and dribbler. However, he will need to improve his defensive work if he is to be a regular in the starting XI this season.
Diaz takes his chance
Luis Diaz was one of Liverpool’s best players against Bayern Munich, and he scored a goal. The Colombian winger is a talented player who is capable of causing problems for defenders, and he will be looking to build on his performance against Bayern Munich this season.
The kids are all right
A number of young players have impressed for Liverpool during their pre-season tour, including Bobby Clark and Ben Doak. Both players are talented youngsters who have the potential to be regular starters for the Reds in the future.
Overall, it was a mixed performance from Liverpool against Bayern Munich. The Reds were good in attack, but they need to improve their defence if they are to challenge for the Premier League title this season
