Liverpool’s interest in these players shows the club’s proactive approach to finding a suitable replacement for Fabinho, who has been a key player for the Reds since his arrival in 2018. The club’s scouting network and management are exploring various options to ensure depth in midfield, and the quartet of Lavia, Gravenberch, Phillips, and Amrabat would all bring different qualities to the team.

Lavia and Gravenberch represent the youth, with the Dutchman having already made his mark with Bayern Munich, while Southampton reportedly value Lavia at £45m. However, Gravenberch has stated that he wants to fight for his place at Bayern and has no intention of leaving the club.

Amrabat, who is 26 years old, has been on Liverpool’s radar since December, following his impressive performances for Morocco in the 2022 World Cup. He would bring experience and physicality to the Liverpool midfield, and could make an instant impact at the club.

Phillips, who is 27, moved to Manchester City last summer but struggled with injuries and failed to establish himself in the starting XI. While he may be slightly too old for Liverpool to invest a significant amount of money in, he could still be a viable option.
