Liverpool are reportedly interested in signing Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, as they look to bolster their midfield options this summer. With Fabio Carvalho set to join Red Bull Leipzig on loan, Jurgen Klopp is keen to add more depth to his squad. The 21-year-old Veiga, who is currently playing at the Euro U21 championships with Spain, has emerged as a potential target for the Merseyside outfit.

However, Liverpool have not yet made an offer for Veiga, and would need to meet his £30m release clause to acquire him. The young Spaniard has been in excellent form for Celta Vigo, scoring 11 goals in 36 LaLiga appearances last season. He played a crucial role in helping the team narrowly avoid relegation, scoring a brace against Barcelona in their final game of the season to secure a 2-1 win.

Veiga’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with Chelsea also said to be interested in signing him. However, Liverpool are likely to face stiff competition for his signature, given his potential and the demand for young, talented midfielders in the transfer market.

If Liverpool do manage to sign Veiga, he could prove to be a valuable addition to their midfield, which has lost several players in recent years, including Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Arthur Melo. Klopp will be looking for players who can bring creativity, energy, and defensive solidity to his midfield, and Veiga has demonstrated these qualities during his breakthrough season at Celta Vigo.

Overall, Liverpool’s interest in Gabri Veiga is a sign of their ambition to remain competitive at the highest level, and their willingness to invest in young talent. It remains to be seen whether they will be able to secure his signature, but if they do, they could have a star in the making on their hands.
