Liverpool duo Diaz and Alexander-Arnold step up recovery in training ahead of Newcastle clash
Liverpool were back in training on Tuesday and were handed injury boosts as both Trent Alexander-Arnold and Luis Diaz took part in the session.
The pair had been forced off during Saturday’s 3-1 win over Bournemouth, sparking concerns over their fitness. However, their presence on the training ground just five days before the trip to Newcastle will come as a relief.

Alexander-Arnold was replaced late on after taking a painful kick, while Diaz also required treatment after his tireless performance including a spectacular equalizer. But Jurgen Klopp will be delighted both should be available for the clash at St James’ Park.
The Reds are awaiting news on whether Alexis Mac Allister’s red card against Bournemouth will be overturned, with the midfielder not pictured in Tuesday’s session along with several other seniors like Thiago and Ibrahima Konate.

Among the 24-man group overseen by Klopp were nine talented youngsters, including 17-year-old forward Trent Kone-Doherty who warmed up alongside first-team stars.

New signing Wataru Endo was also involved just four days into his Liverpool career, taking part in a game of head tennis. The Japanese midfielder made an encouraging 27-minute debut on Saturday.
With Mac Allister potentially banned, the next week is important for Endo to continue settling in and learning Liverpool’s style with a view to featuring at Newcastle if required.
