FIFA agent Marco Kirdemir has suggested that Liverpool could be a potential rival for Real Madrid in the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé this summer. Mbappé’s future at PSG has been in doubt since he informed the club that he won’t trigger the one-year extension in his contract, making him a free agent next summer. PSG, unwilling to lose such a valuable asset for nothing, have reportedly decided to sell Mbappé this summer, with Real Madrid seen as his most likely destination.

However, Kirdemir’s comments indicate that Liverpool could also be in the running for the Frenchman’s signature, despite previous reports suggesting that the Premier League club were out of the running for Mbappé. Kirdemir believes that Liverpool are willing to pay a “fortune” for Mbappé, with the potential transfer fee reaching up to €300m, which would be a record fee.

Mbappé has been a long-standing target for Liverpool, but it remains to be seen whether they will follow through with their reported interest this summer. Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp previously told The Times in May that the club were not in the running for Mbappé, but Kirdemir’s comments suggest that the situation may have changed.

If Liverpool were to sign Mbappé, it would undoubtedly be a major coup for the club and would significantly strengthen their attacking options. Mbappé is widely regarded as one of the best young talents in world football and has already achieved great success at both club and international level. His pace, skill, and goalscoring ability would be a major asset to any team, and Liverpool would undoubtedly benefit from his presence in their squad.

However, with Real Madrid also in the running for Mbappé’s signature, Liverpool will face tough competition to secure the Frenchman’s services. It remains to be seen where Mbappé will end up this summer, but one thing is certain: whichever club manages to sign him will have a true superstar on their hands.
