Liverpool finished the 2020/21 season in fifth place, failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in five years, and suffering early exits from both domestic cup competitions and Europe. However, Klopp’s side ended the season on a high note with an 11-game unbeaten run, providing fans with optimism for the future.

This optimism has been further boosted by the recent signings of Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, as part of a much-needed midfield overhaul. Klopp is clearly pleased with the new additions to his squad, and is looking forward to working with them as they prepare for the new season.

Liverpool have a busy pre-season schedule ahead of them, with games against Wacker Innsbruck and Stuttgart in Austria, before returning to England to face Athletic Bilbao and Osasuna. Klopp will be using these games to fine-tune his team ahead of their Premier League opener against Norwich City on August 14.
