DARWIN NUNEZ DOUBLE TO GIVE 10 MAN LIVERPOOL

Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score two late goals and complete a remarkable comeback as Liverpool defeated Newcastle United 2-1 at St James’ Park on Wednesday night.

It looked like it was going to be a miserable night for Jurgen Klopp’s Reds who found themselves behind and down to 10 men after Virgil van Dijk was sent off in the first half.

Anthony Gordon had opened the scoring for Newcastle, punishing a mistake by Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Alisson kept Liverpool in the game with some superb saves to deny Miguel Almiron and others. As Newcastle pressed for a second, Klopp turned to Nunez to try and change the game.
