Liverpool news Manu Kone can be Jude Bellingham alternative for the Reds

Borussia Monchengladbach’s sporting director, Roland Virkus, has revealed that the club is willing to sell midfielder Manu Kone to Liverpool for the right price. The 22-year-old has attracted interest from several European clubs, but Liverpool has reportedly stepped up their pursuit of the midfielder in recent weeks by opening talks with his representatives.

Liverpool has already secured the signing of Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton and is keen to add another midfielder to their squad. Kone is seen as a viable option for the Reds, who are looking to strengthen their midfield ahead of the new season.

While Borussia Monchengladbach is keen to keep hold of Kone, Virkus has admitted that the club will sell him if their valuation is met. “Our attitude is well-known,” Virkus told kicker. “If there are sums involved that a club like Borussia has to think about, we will do it.”

Kone has impressed since joining Borussia Monchengladbach from Toulouse in 2020. The French midfielder made 25 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring one goal and providing three assists. At just 22 years of age, Kone has the potential to become a top-class midfielder and could be a valuable addition to Liverpool’s squad.

Liverpool will be hoping that they can reach an agreement with Borussia Monchengladbach for Kone’s transfer. The Reds will be looking to bounce back from a disappointing campaign last season, where they failed to defend their Premier League title and finished third in the table. Klopp will be hoping that his summer transfer business will help Liverpool mount a serious challenge for silverware once again.
