Fiorentina travel to Vienna for the first leg of their playoff clash without Amrabat, who was an unused substitute in their Serie A opener on Saturday. His omission from the squad is another indication that a transfer could be imminent before the summer window closes.

The Moroccan international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United. According to renowned transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano, United are waiting to make a formal offer for Amrabat.

Fiorentina are reportedly eager for Amrabat’s situation to be resolved one way or another. The Daily Mail claims the club have set the 26-year-old a deadline to decide if he wants to leave before the end of the transfer period.

His exclusion from the matchday squad versus Rapid Wien could mean Amrabat has already indicated his desire to seek a new challenge. Liverpool have also reportedly registered interest in signing the defensive midfielder.

Before pursuing other targets, United must sell players to raise funds after spending over £200m so far this summer. Donny van de Beek and Scott McTominay are two midfield players that could potentially be sold to make room in the squad and generate transfer fees. Amrabat’s future at Fiorentina remains uncertain as interest builds from Premier League giants.
