Alisson Becker’s Stunning Save Nominated for Premier League Save of the Month

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has been nominated for the Premier League Save of the Month award for August.

The Brazilian’s save came in the Reds’ 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St. James’ Park. With Liverpool trailing 1-0 and down to 10 men, Alisson produced a superb save to deny Miguel Almiron and keep his side in the game.

The save came in the 67th minute, when Almiron fired a powerful shot from the edge of the penalty area. Alisson got down well to his right to make a fingertip save, keeping the ball out and giving Liverpool a chance to get back into the game.

Liverpool did indeed come back, with Darwin Nunez scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to secure a dramatic victory.
