Rasmus Hojlund Features in WhoScored Champions League Team of the Week
Manchester United suffered a 3-2 defeat to Galatasaray in disappointing fashion on Tuesday night. One rare positive for the Red Devils was the performance of young striker Rasmus Hojlund.
The 20-year-old Dane was a livewire up front for United, pressing relentlessly and causing issues for the Galatasaray defense with his pace and power. Hojlund capped off his industrious display with a well-taken brace.
While Hojlund deserved more from his full debut, he couldn’t prevent the defeat single-handedly. The defense let him down on the night and he was left feeling hard done by despite his best efforts.
Hojlund’s star showing has earned him recognition, with a place in the WhoScored Champions League Team of the Week for Matchday 2. He is the only United player included in the lineup.
The team is: Ter Stegen; Cancelo, Rakitskyi, Schar, Bensebaini; Bukari, Bellingham, Barella, Lang; Hojlund, Morata.
It was cold comfort for Hojlund, but his inclusion is a testament to his quality on the biggest stage. Ten Hag will hope the young striker can continue delivering standout performances to boost a so far lackluster season for Manchester United.
