OFFICIAL: Sofyan Amrabat joins Manchester United on loan

Manchester United have signed midfielder Sofyan Amrabat on loan from ACF Fiorentina until June 2024, subject to international clearance and registration requirements.

The 26-year-old Amrabat has been a key player for Morocco, making 49 appearances for his national team including every minute of their run to the FIFA World Cup semi-finals in Qatar earlier this year.

Last season, the Moroccan international played a vital role for Fiorentina, featuring prominently as they reached the final of the Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa Conference League.

Speaking upon his arrival at Old Trafford, Amrabat expressed his delight at joining the 20-time English champions.

“It is a huge honour to become a Manchester United player. I’ve had to be patient for this moment but I’m someone who always listens to my heart and now I am representing the club of my dreams,” Amrabat said.

“I am a passionate player; I want to bring that energy to the squad, and I will put everything into every action I take for the team.”

Amrabat will look to bolster United’s midfield options following their acquisition of him on loan from Fiorentina until next summer.
