Manchester United Earn Vital Three Points Against Luton Town in 1-0 Victory

Manchester United secured an important win against Luton Town on Saturday afternoon, earning a 1-0 victory at Old Trafford thanks to a goal from Victor Lindelof.

The only goal of the game came just past the hour mark, as Lindelof fired home from inside the box after the ball broke to him. It was the Swedish defender’s first goal for United since December 2020.

The result gives Erik ten Hag’s side a much-needed three points, as they seek to climb the table under pressure. Both teams missed big chances in the first half, through Rasmus Hojlund and Alejandro Garnacho.

Lindelof’s goal clinched consecutive Premier League wins for United, moving them within three points of fourth place. However, they have played one more game than the teams around them.

The winless run for Luton continues at six games in the top flight. They remain above the relegation zone on goal difference going into the international break.

United struggled with injuries again, losing Rasmus Hojlund and Christian Eriksen to hamstring and knee issues early in the match. The points give Ten Hag’s side some respite ahead of the break.
