Liverpool are reportedly considering a move for Bayern Munich midfielder Joshua Kimmich. The 28-year-old Germany international has been a key player for Bayern for several years, thanks to his versatility and ability to play both right-back and central midfield. Kimmich has contributed six goals and nine assists from 41 outings in the Bundesliga and Champions League during 2022-23.

While Bayern officials and head coach Thomas Tuchel are keen to keep Kimmich at the Allianz Arena, the midfielder has just over two years left on his contract and may be looking for a new challenge after eight years at the club. Barcelona have been linked with a move for Kimmich, but their complex financial situation may make it difficult for them to facilitate the transfer.

Liverpool are said to be monitoring the situation, as they look to strengthen their midfield after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. While Kimmich is above the age range that Liverpool typically targets, his ability to play at right-back could make him an attractive option for the Merseyside giants, who require competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Bayern are reportedly unwilling to consider selling Kimmich unless they receive an offer in the region of €60m (£52.15m), a price that Liverpool may be unwilling to meet. Nevertheless, with Klopp in need of further additions to his squad, Kimmich’s versatility and experience could make himan interesting target for Liverpool as they look to compete in the Premier League and in Europe next season.

It remains to be seen whether Liverpool will make a formal offer for Kimmich, but his potential arrival at Anfield would undoubtedly be a major coup for the club. If Liverpool are able to secure his services, Kimmich could prove to be a key player for the Reds as they look to challenge for silverware in the coming seasons.
