Kylian Mbappe’s future has been a topic of discussion for some time now, with the French striker having made it clear that he has no intention of extending his contract beyond the current season, leaving him as a free agent in the summer of 2024. While Real Madrid are the most likely destination for Mbappe, other clubs are also expected to try to tempt the superstar away from Paris Saint-Germain.

Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson believes that Liverpool are the most likely challenger to Real Madrid for Mbappe’s signature. Johnson acknowledges that Real Madrid are the heavy favorites to sign the Frenchman, especially after the unexpected departure of Karim Benzema. However, Liverpool have a historical interest in Mbappe, and if they get back into the Champions League next summer and are challenging for the Premier League again, they could potentially be an option for him in the future.

Real Madrid will likely play the waiting game, with Mbappe aware that he has run out of credit with the club to be courted by them. If he wants to play for Los Blancos, he must make the first move. Having passed up the chance to go to Real Madrid three times already, it would be a historic rejection if he were to decide against doing so a fourth time.

Mbappe is considered one of the best young talents in world football and has already achieved a lot in his career. He has won several domestic titles and played an integral role in France’s World Cup victory in 2018. Mbappe’s pace, skill, and finishing ability make him a deadly forward, and he would be a valuable addition to any team.

While Real Madrid and Liverpool are the two most likely destinations for Mbappe, it remains to be seen where he will end up. The Frenchman will have no shortage of suitors, and it will ultimately come down to where he feels he can achieve his goals and win trophies.
