Casemiro and Reguilon return to Man United training ahead of UCL clash

Manchester United welcomed back Casemiro and Sergio Reguilon to training as they step up their recoveries from injury ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League clash with FC Copenhagen.

Casemiro returned to training after missing United’s weekend Premier League victory over Sheffield United due to an ankle injury suffered on international duty with Brazil. The midfielder was all smiles as he took part in various drills with his teammates at Carrington on Monday.

His return is a boost for manager Erik ten Hag, with Scott McTominay having filled in during Casemiro’s absence. The 31-year-old’s experience and quality will be valuable as United look to secure progress to the Champions League knockout stage.

Meanwhile, on-loan left-back Sergio Reguilon also participated in training as he looks to recover full fitness following a string of injury issues since joining from Tottenham. Ten Hag is hopeful both players will be available for selection soon to strengthen his squad options.

United will be hoping to have Casemiro available for Tuesday’s Old Trafford clash with Copenhagen, which they can qualify for the last-16 with a win or draw. The Brazilian’s return to training is an encouraging sign that he could play some part as the Red Devils look to make it two wins from two in Europe.
