Pochettino led Tottenham to a Champions League final in 2019, but was sacked a few months later. He has now returned to London to take charge of Chelsea, who have been searching for a new manager since April when Graham Potter was dismissed. Frank Lampard was appointed as his replacement but failed to get the team to perform consistently, resulting in a bottom-half finish.

Some Tottenham fans have labeled Pochettino as a “turncoat” for joining their rivals. They feel that he has destroyed his legacy at the club, and that his decision to join Chelsea was not worth it. Some fans have even expressed their hope that he will lose every game and be jobless by Christmas.

Chelsea, on the other hand, are excited about Pochettino’s appointment and believe that his experience, standards of excellence, leadership qualities, and character will serve the club well. They consider him a winning coach who has worked at the highest levels, in multiple leagues and languages. The Blues are hoping that Pochettino’s tactical approach and commitment to development will help them return to Europe.

Pochettino will officially start his role as Chelsea’s head coach on July 1,and he will have his work cut out for him as he tries to guide the team back to the top of the English and European football. His primary goal will be to transform an underachieving squad that has struggled to perform consistently despite a £600 million spend in the 2022-23 season. With his reputation for developing young talent, he may be able to bring some of Chelsea’s academy graduates into the first team and create a winning formula.
