Rashford and Maguire plead with Sancho to apologize to Erik Ten Hag

Manchester United stars Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire have urged teammate Jadon Sancho to apologize to manager Erik ten Hag in order to end his exile from the first team.
Sancho has been banned from first-team facilities by Ten Hag after accusing the manager of lying in a social media post on September 3rd.
Ten Hag dropped Sancho from the squad for the Arsenal match that day, saying the winger had not trained well enough.
Now Rashford, Shaw, and former captain Maguire have all reportedly tried to intervene and resolve the issue.
They have begged Sancho to swallow his pride and apologize to the manager. The senior players advised Sancho that persisting in his feud with Ten Hag will only hurt his own career, as the manager will not back down.
A source close to the team said “Jadon’s teammates are telling him to stand back and tell the coach he’s sorry. They want him to apologize. They sympathize with his feelings, but recognize some of his social media posts crossed a line.”
Sancho has been restricted to training with the academy since the incident and there is no return date set for rejoining the first team.
However, Ten Hag is said to be willing to welcome Sancho back on the condition that he apologizes. As one source said, “Something has to give, but it won’t be the coach.”
Sancho joined United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £73 million but has struggled for playing time and form under Ten Hag so far this season. His teammates hope an apology can help resolve the situation.
