Man United are reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni in the summer transfer window.

The French international, who has been linked with a move to Old Trafford before, is said to be looking to leave Madrid after just one season at the club.

Tchouameni is reportedly on Erik ten Hag’s wishlist as the Man Utd boss looks to bolster his midfield options.

Despite the imminent arrival of Mason Mount from Chelsea, the Red Devils are said to be keen on adding another midfielder to their squad.

There are also rumours that Fred and Scott McTominay could be on their way out of Old Trafford this summer, with the two midfielders dropping down the pecking order last season.

Tchouameni, who is highly rated by ten Hag, is seen as an “ideal candidate” to slip into his midfield.

Man Utd have apparently shown “a special willingness” to welcome Tchouameni into their ranks, with the Dutchman believing that the Frenchman would be “totally compatible” with Casemiro.

However, Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be holding out for a fee of €80m (£69m) for the midfielder.

Former Man Utd striker Louis Saha believes that Fred, who could make way for Tchouameni, would excel at a club like Fulham.

Saha described Fred as a “committed player” who is “loyal”, but acknowledged that he may want to move on to get more game time.

In addition to Tchouameni, ten Hag is also reportedly looking to improve other areas of the team. Saha has controversially recommended a move for former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane from Bayern Munich.

While it remains to be seen whether these moves will materialize, it’s clear that Man Utd are gearing up for a busy summer transfer window.
