Along with other alternatives such as Nicolo Barella, Alexis Mac Allister, and Mason Mount, Ugarte is said to be on Liverpool’s radar. Record reports that the 22-year-old has been on the Premier League giant’s radar for some time, and they are now preparing to launch their first concrete bid for him. However, it remains unclear what figure Liverpool will start with in their attempt to sign Ugarte.

Ugarte has already been capped eight times by the Uruguay national team and has become a pivotal figure in Sporting’s Liga Portugal charge this season. He has made 29 appearances, starting 26 games and playing for 2,188 minutes. The player is under contract until 2026 and is represented by Gestifute, the agency headed by Jorge Mendes, which also represents Cristiano Ronaldo, Joao Felix, Bernardo Silva, Fabinho, Diogo Jota, and Darwin Nunez.

With his release clause reportedly standing at £52.2m, Ugarte could prove to be a significant investment for Liverpool as they seek to revamp their midfield. It remains to be seen whether the Reds will be successful in their bid for the talented midfielder, but it is clear that they believe he could be a valuable addition to their team.
