Argentinian football star Lionel Messi has reportedly received an offer from an English team for a potential transfer this summer.
After leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) at the end of his two-year contract, Messi became a free agent and is now being courted by several clubs.
Messi’s departure from Barcelona in 2021 came after the Spanish club was unable to offer him a new contract due to financial difficulties.
His contract with PSG included two full years and an option year, which he decided to remove.
Though the next season’s destination for Messi is uncertain, he has been linked with a return to Barcelona and a possible move to Saudi club Al Hilal, which has offered him the highest salary ever paid to a player.
However, the competition for Messi’s signature has now expanded to include English club Chelsea, whose owner Todd Boehly is reportedly considering making an offer for the player.
Football London has confirmed that the Blues are preparing a proposal for Messi.
The final decision on Messi’s future is expected to be delayed until the end of the month, as his current team will miss two of their remaining four league games.
